ABOUT THE NIGHT

The Bakersfield Revival is Kern County's most important night of live country music featuring, Bakersfield Sound Pioneers, Country Music Royalty and rising stars of California's Traditional Country Music inspired artists at Bakersfield’s Last historic Honky-Tonk, The Rustic Rail Saloon.

We believe the best way to listen to traditional country music is Live and in person in a Honky Tonk bar with a stage and a dance floor. With the August 2025 closure of Bakersfield's most prominent landmark venue The Buck Owens Crystal Palace it became obvious to us that The Bakersfield Revival needed another installment this year. So Country music lover and promoter "Country Bunker Dave " Bakersfield's own Devyn Brinsfield and Kyle Appleton got together and designed this show for anyone who wished they could have gone to a Bakersfield Honky Tonk in the 1960s.

This is as close as you can get to going back to the 1960's Bakersfield Honky Tonk bars.

Presented by Grand Ole Country Bunker and proudly sponsored by Redwood Empire Whiskey, this event features 3 pioneers of the Bakersfield Sound, (Norm Hamlet, Sonny Anglin and Jimmy Phillips) The son of Country Music Legend Buck Owens, Ameripolitan Music Award Nominee West of Texas , Los Angeles new Honky-Tonk Queen, and hosted by local honky-tonk heroes Devyn Brinsfield and Kyle Appleton for a truly historic country music showcase at the Rustic Rail Saloon.

Johnny Owens – Buck Owens' son who headlined the Crystal Palace for many years until it's closure in August 2025

Norm Hamlet – Merle Haggard's pedal steel player for over 50 years

Sonny Anglin – Buck Owens and Buddy Mize recording artist (“Truck Drivin' Pool Shoot Son Of A Gun” and "Today's Tomorrows Yesterday")

Jimmy Phillips – Drummer for Red Simpson and original Go-Daddy /rock n roll pioneer ( early rock ’n’ roll ). ( The Man Behind the Badge)

Devyn Brinsfield - Bakersfield born and stayed Country singer who's originals sound like they belong on a late 1960s album.

🕗 8:00 PM – Dominique and the Diamonds with Norm Hamlet

Fronted by Colombian-American singer-songwriter Dominique Gomez, known for their 60s and 70s-inspired sound and classic country style. Her debut EP, For a Fool, was released on June 13, 2025.

🕘 9:00 PM – West of Texas with Norm Hamlet The Ameripolitan Music Award nominated band has been a champion for original traditional country music in the LA Country Music scene for many years. Front man Jerry Zinn released his second album Hot Motel Nights in November of 2024.

🕙 10:00 PM – Johnny Owens with Kyle Appleton

Johnny is Buck Owens youngest son and carried on his father's legacy at the Buck Owens Crystal Palace until it's closing in August of 2025. Fans came from all over the world to hear the authentic story Johnny’s voice tells. His voice is a throwback to the past. Fans have said they close their eyes and hear it as if Buck himself was there singing. Johnny will backed up by Bakersfield's finest musicians of today: including Kyle Appleton, Stryder Callison, Cesareo Garasa and Ray Sadolsky

The Bakersfield Revival Jam🎸with special guests from the Bakersfield and Los Angeles Country Music Communities. This all-star jam is a unforgetable chance to see established and up and coming country singers share the stage with the greatest band in Kern County.

The Bakersfield Revival Jam will feature special guest appearances by Michael Peters, Zane Adamo, Tar and Flowers, Genevieve La Court, Taylor Dunn and more!
