A 90-Minute moment to Act Like a Kid Again

Did you miss my last sold-out table? I'm bringing The Bad Drawing Club back again at Beyond The Pale on Saturday, July 25th, and this time we are tackling the most high-stress, terrifying art form known to humankind: The Portrait.

But here’s the twist—the goal is to make it look as absolutely terrible as possible:-)

If you haven’t picked up a marker since the fifth grade, or if you can barely draw a stick figure, congratulations—you are perfectly qualified. This isn't an art class; it’s a high-energy social rescue mission for your weekend.

What We Are Doing (The Vibe):

• The Ugly Portrait Challenge: We’ll be using vibrant markers and colored paper to create hilariously bad portraits of the people sitting across from us. No skill, no likeness, zero judgment.
• Silly Break Games: Between drawing rounds, I'll lead low-stakes, childhood-style icebreaker games to break up the focus, spark a ton of laughter, and keep the energy high. Basically silly games :-)
• The "Social Oasis" Vibe: We are taking over a dedicated table right in the heart of BTP's bustling, two-story brewery buzz. You get all the vibrant energy of a packed Saturday afternoon, but with a safe, structured "home base" where you don't have to navigate a big crowd alone.

Who This Is For:

• Solo-Seekers: Most people book these spots completely alone! Don't be shy—I'll have your chair waiting and will introduce you to the table instantly.
• New to Ottawa: Skip the awkward, transactional "speed-friending" events. This is "parallel play"—it’s a low-pressure way to build your social muscle and feel part of the city.
• The Saturday Escapists: Burned-out 9-to-5ers, busy parents, and anyone looking to swap their phone screen for some messy, analog fun.

• FREE 90-minute parking on-site!
• Tickets: $20 (Includes your entry, custom portrait kit, all markers and hosted games).
• 🍔 Food & Drink: BTP has a massive, incredible food menu, craft brews, non-alcoholic options, and mocktails. Come hungry
• Must purchase minumum of 1 beverage to give back to the venue.
