The Austin Boogie Down Picnic is a free, all ages, outdoor daytime community gathering centered around music, good vibes, and connection. This Valentine’s Day edition is designed as a relaxed alternative to nightlife, bringing people together in the park for an easygoing afternoon of music, skating, and community.
Expect 70s, 80s, and 90s love ballads and classic R&B played throughout the day by Donavin Velez and Supafly. The music sets a warm, nostalgic tone that’s perfect for skating, hanging out, and enjoying the park without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
From 12pm to 2pm, the Republic Square Farmers Market will also be happening on 4th Street, adding to the energy of the afternoon and extending the rhythm of the day throughout the park.
There will be Valentine’s themed pop up vendors, food and drinks including hot chocolate, games, and roller skaters flowing through the space. Bring a blanket, bring your skates if you have them, bring your partner, friends, family, or just yourself.
All ages and all wheels are welcome. Bikes, skates, boards, strollers, anything that rolls is encouraged.
This is a free, family friendly, pet friendly, daytime event designed to feel welcoming, social, and rooted in Austin community culture.
