This 8-part series dives into the cosmic and karmic forces shaping intimacy. Each week unpacks a core dimension of relational astrology, from exploring personal relational karma and the archetypal energies of one’s planets, to examining compatibility synastry, the lunar nodes, ascendants, and house overlays. Participants will learn both technical foundations and transformative insights, navigating how charts reveal the heart of intimacy, karmic entanglements, and the emergent “third entity” of the relationship itself. Rooted in both Western and Vedic traditions, this journey is equal parts mystical, practical, and raw in its invitation to see love as an initiatory, alchemical path.

What you need to do:

-Get a mini-consult with me about understanding chart relational karma.

-Collect charts of past and current partners (Send them to me, and print them out/have digitally organized and accessible: named as partner #1, partner #2, college lover A, ex-husband B, John Doe C, etc…do not use their real names)

-You will be expected to do homework in-between classes so you come prepared, come with poignant questions and considerations, etc

What will each week focus on?

10/1: It’s an Inside Job: The Independent Relational Karma of Your Chart

People, for real, go slow. You have way more karma and trauma than you think. Take the time to understand what’s in your own bag before you merge. Opening your heart is essentially calling in someone else's long line of ghosts, and expecting them to handle yours. Deep intimacy means taking on someone else’s karma. Accept that and get real about understanding your own relational karma.That’s the starting point.This class will be an exploration of how to look at an astrology chart and see the relational karma inherent in the chart.

10/8: The Relational Meaning of the Planets: These Damn Deified Psychosomatic Projection Filters Who Play Games with Human Fate

The Old Sky Gods come on down here, get all dressed up in the flesh, shapeshift around, and play these damn games with our hearts, genitals and brain chemicals. If you want to understand synastry you need to form a really good, deep and complex understanding of the ways these archetypal energies embody and express themselves down here on Spaceship Earth. This is a deep-dive in how the planets show up in the relational web.

10/15: The Energy of Relating: Planetary Combinations in Synastry…Or, I Guess I Actually Can’t Do All This Intimacy Stuff Solo

You got to play the game. If you want to grow and heal and evolve at some point you have to be tossed into the alchemical vessel, the great pressure cooker of actual intimacy. This class will be an assessment of how the planets relate to each other. This is not bullshit new-age astrology. Sometimes these fuckers war with each, sometimes they love, sometimes heal, sometimes they pillage, sometimes they fit together smoothly, oftentimes they don’t. Understanding how the planets fit together like some twisted, yet soulful, jigsaw puzzle that challenges us into deeper gravitas, texture, preference & nuance—that’s the key.

10/22: Deep Karma & The Nodes in Synastry: Trauma Bonds, Soul Mates, True Love, or D. All of the Above

This is the deep stuff. Twin flames, soul-mates, karmic contracts, animus/anima projections, star-crossed lovers, fatal attractions, partners in “the work,” —nothing makes the folly & triumph of human love so spicy and yummy and downright dangerous like tossing the hungry, mystical dragon into the mix. The lunar nodes, eclipses, and your love life: not for the faint of heart. Just remember: you didn’t come to planet Earth for comfort and to be lazy, you came for the deep medicine —the underworld, serpent deity medicine. You came here to deep dive into the trauma healing and ancestral wounds. Be brave, take heart, this is the good stuff.

10/29: Ascendent Combinations in Synastry: The Structural Foundations of Relating

This is real astrology. There are actually fundamental techniques you need to integrate. It’s not complicated, but it takes some basic effort, conceptual skill, and systems thinking to understand how the zodiac works and how the sacred geometry of the cosmos fits together. Understanding the nature of each ascendent and how they fit together is important. Not all combinations are created equally. Some have more flow, some have more friction. Come learn some of the patterns of how this all works.

11/5: Understanding Overlaying Houses: How Exactly Do Two Lives Fit Together

The house overlay system: now we are getting into the cartographic genius of relational astrology. It’s actually a deep mapping system, not just some charlatan new-age pop-psychology game. This gets deep into traditional vedic and western synastry. Learn the importance of where things show up in each other’s charts. It makes all the difference. Who drops what in who’s where…what? Not what, not why…WHERE: it’s all location, location, location. This is a real estate map to the housing market of your relational soul.

11/12: Composite Charts: The Deep Merging of The Two Becoming The One

This is not an enmeshed codependent prank —save that energy for the newly weds. This is the astrology of “the 3rd entity” at the intimacy table. This is the chart of the relationship itself. Have you wondered how these damn relational containers seem to take on a life of their own? There is actually a map for it. Another fun layer of entering into the realm of the most fundamental mystical healing art in life: relating to the invisible, emergent, creative force that is bodies and souls coming together.

11/19: Traditional Vedic Compatibility

This class explores the ancient art of relationship compatibility (Kuta) through the lens of the Moon in Vedic astrology. In Jyotiṣa, the Moon is not just a planet—it is the mind, the heart, and the emotional body. Because of this, the Moon’s position in the nakshatras and rāśis becomes central in determining harmony between two people. We’ll study how the sages developed the Aṣṭa Kuta (Eightfold Kuta) system, which compares lunar positions to measure alignment in areas such as longevity, mental harmony, sexual compatibility, and spiritual growth.

What is The School of Celestial Illumination?

This is not your typical astrology school. These classes are a mosaic of community offerings and teachings that weave together astrology and divination with an ancestral understanding of ethnoastronomy, myth & cultural astronomy, modern healing modalities, and most of all an embodied, animate relationship to the sky. The classes offered here will be a fusion of Indo-european and Semitic astrologies, mixed with contemporary western and archetypal astrology…and always an action-packed mythopoetics to feed your imagination.
