Earth Devotions' Gatherings

Welcome to Earth Devotions' Gatherings!

Join Mary Plantwalker on the third Saturday of every month in 2025 from 10:00 AM- 4PM for a day of connection and celebration at Herb Mountain Farm. Immerse yourself in nature, learn from an experienced guide, and deepen your spiritual connection to the Earth.

Together, we will tend our inner and outer ecology, connect with soul kin, get our hands in the dirt if we want, eat wild, share fellowship, walk the green path in harmony with the weather and the seasons, and let the elementals, plant devas, animal kin, earth angels and heavenly spirits know that we care and are doing our part in the healing and transformation of the environment and humanity.

We will:

• Practice plant id and learning the medicinal & edible gifts of our green friends
• Drink tea we harvest ourselves
• Explore some gentle movement
• Collectively prioritize honoring the sacred
• Break bread together
• Discuss what it means to be an earth steward
• Tune into the seasons and nourish our sense of place
• Hold an open space for resource and knowledge sharing
• Have an opportunity to walk the mile-long nature trail after the gathering
• Participate in seasonal harvests and green-based activities/crafts/rituals. For April's gathering, we will be sowing seeds both literally and metaphorically. Soil, containers and seeds will be provided.

We will talk gardens, wilderness, have Q&A’s on foraging, feasting and all things plant, hold a tea ceremony, engage in seasonal hands-on activities with the land's bounty, practice mindfulness, have fireside chats in colder weather, share our authentic selves and grow closer to the earth and cosmos- the elements, directions, flora and fauna and our own spirit.

Whatever it is you do in the world, whatever hat you wear, Earth Devotions’ Gatherings are a time for you to safely and serenely come back home to yourself and the land.

Logistics:

-These gatherings are held the 3rd Saturday of every month (except September) at Herb Mountain Farm in Weaverville, NC from 10am-4pm. Each gathering is open to attend just that one, or you can come to all, but pre-registration is required. Please only register if you can attend the full day event. It isn’t a drop-in gathering.

-Led by Mary Plantwalker- Writer, Mother, Plant Guide, Earth Steward, Ceremonialist and Sanctuary Creatress. Visit Earth Devotions publication to learn more of Mary's teachings.

-A lunch of vegetarian soup and bread will be provided. If you have specific dietary needs, please bring your own lunch. Bring a spoon, bowl and mug (and an additional snack if needed.)

-Be prepared for all types of weather. Rain or shine, we will meet outside, with an indoor backup if a downpour.

-Although we will be moving at a slow pace, we will be wandering through different terrains, some hilly and rocky, some flat and open, and some woodsy. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk.

-Directions will be given upon registration.

-Please do not bring pets to this event.

-We will open up our beautiful nature trail for participants to walk after the gathering and you can feel free to linger and enjoy the gardens and gazebo.

Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or new to natural foods, land tending and/or earth-based spirituality, let's come together with other green hearts to celebrate and respect the natural world.
