About this Event

About The Ascent

The Ascent is the first Tribute Hike—a new series of hikes for people who want to honor the pets who changed their lives.

If you've ever lost a pet, you know they leave their mark on us long after they're gone.

This hike is simply an opportunity to spend a morning in the mountains with others who understand that bond.

We'll meet before sunrise, introduce ourselves (and, if you'd like, the pet you're hiking in honor of), then hike Chimney Tops together.

There are no speeches, fundraising goals, or expectations to share your story.

Just a small group of people, a challenging hike, and time in nature.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you're welcome.

You do not need to be an experienced mountain hiker, but you should be prepared for a strenuous climb. We will hike as a group and take breaks as needed, but this is intended to be a physically demanding experience rather than a casual nature walk.
