The Artist's Eye
Join us at the Inglewood Lofts from 2 PM-4 PM on Sundays through April for a chill in-person 4-part workshop series all about teaching you how to draw. Whether you've drawn before or maybe you have never picked up a pencil, this is the spot to be. Don't miss out on this cool chance to explore your artistic side over all 4 classes! We provide all the materials, including pencils, paper, and erasers. Just bring your creativity and a willingness to learn!
Week 1

Week 1: Foundations and the Power of Line
Host: Susan Duncan
Info: Overcoming fear of the page and understanding your tools. Understanding pencil grades, eraser types, paper grades and textures.
Week 2

Week 2: Seeing Complex Objects as Simple Shapes
Info: The "Block In" Method, learning to see the world in simple shapes. Basic principles of perspective and making sure the left side and right side of your drawing are the same!
Week 3

Week 3: Light, Shadow and Texture
Info: Adding depth through value. Creating a 5-step or 9-step scale from white to deepest black. Techniques in shading, including blending and mapping the shadow.
Week 4

Week4: Pulling it all together, the finished piece
Info: The final class is where we pull it all together and draw a finished piece. We also cover composition basics.
