22MINUS21
22MINUS21’s “Tu Gia,” meaning “Home,” captures the creator’s journey from Vietnam to Washington State. Lemongrass top notes evoke Vietnamese countryside memories, while cedar base notes embody the evergreen forests of the Pacific Northwest. At its heart, rose symbolizes the warmth of family.
With “Tu Gia,” we invite you to pause, reflect, and connect with nature and the essence of home.
RAIZES
It begins with a beautiful merge and co-op of two different cultures. In the early 19th century African and Indigenous peoples escaped slavery to the Jalapão region of Brazil forming Quilombo communities. They shared a common goal of independence in all forms including economic.
The region’s unique climate is home to the a rare crop called Syngonanthus Nitens. It took the artistic eye and vision of Dona Miúda in the early 20th century to recognize the decorative potential of this crop which has since been called “Golden Grass.” Armed with the artisan skills shared by the Xerente Indigenous peoples, the Afro - Brazilian woman transformed these humble, yet radiant crops, into beautiful, high demanding crafts in the forms of fashion accessories and home decor.
Today this artisanship allows for a significant source of income to be provided, a tradition upheld and pride cultivated.

MUSIC PERFORMANCE BY MARTIN JENNINGS
Martin Jennings also famously known as Martin Supernova is a passionate musician playing saxophone and flute for a couple of decades in New York City.
He has had some ardent followers and fans around the city who would come to appreciate his solo renditions based on some classic tunes with his imaginative twists becoming technically perfect & masterful creations.
You can almost always find Martin playing next to the Romeo Juliet statue outside Delacorte theater in Central Park before & after Shakespeare in the park shows. But that’s the days he’s not booked :) so we do we have to be lucky to find him there!
