Darnel Marley joins Newton Public Library's Fourth Tuesday Photography series to discuss the world of freight train graffiti: the artists, the styles, and the culture that turns rail cars into moving canvases. A "bencher" who has spent hundreds of hours documenting train art as it rolls through Kansas, Darnel will talk about "monikers," "throw-ups," and full-car pieces; the etiquette and secrecy of the graffiti community; and her own photography work, including a current exhibit at the Great Plains Transportation Museum, running now through June 27.
This is a hybrid program: Attend in person at Newton Public Library, 223 E. 7th, or click here to sign up for the Zoom Webinar simulcast: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_-4EwgNPyQTeaXDGKBsBoyg. Darnel will be with us in person.
