The Art of Time: A Leica Watch & Photography Experience

Leica Store Boston invites you to an exclusive event on Tuesday, October 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, dedicated to Leica Watches and the art of timekeeping.

The night will feature a captivating presentation on Leica’s journey into horology and the philosophy behind its beautifully engineered timepieces. Adding a personal and artistic dimension to the evening is acclaimed watch photographer Atom Moore, known for his signature macro photography and ability to reveal the hidden stories within every timepiece. He’ll be joined by Kristian Dowling of the Ernst Leitz Werkstätten Watch Team to lead guests through an immersive, hands-on photography experience.

You’ll have the rare opportunity to explore interactive photography stations and capture your own timepieces or Leica’s under the expert guidance of Atom and Kristian. Whether you're focusing on the soul of a dial or the curve of a case, Atom’s perspective encourages you to see timepieces not just as instruments, but as works of art.

Atom Moore is a professional photographer and videographer living and working in NYC. He specializes in macro watch photography working with major watch brands and publications to bring his unique view to the industry. He has been creating artwork based on his watch photography since 2015 and has had solo exhibitions of his work in New York City, Hong Kong, and The National Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia, PA. His artistic creations are a unique mashup of his signature macro watch photography and a new found love of plant photography.

Kristian Dowling is a photographer, creative director, and global watch industry professional whose career bridges the worlds of visual storytelling and luxury horology. He first gained recognition in celebrity and editorial photography before turning his focus to fine watchmaking—a field where his passion for craftsmanship, engineering, and design naturally converged.

Since 2022, Kristian has worked closely with Leica Camera AG and Ernst Leitz Werkstätten in Wetzlar, Germany, where he serves as Content, Community, and Training Manager for Leica Watch. In this role, he leads global training initiatives, creates brand-driven content, and builds communities that connect Leica’s century-long legacy in precision engineering with its contemporary expansion into watchmaking.

Kristian brings a unique perspective that bridges photography and horology. His deep understanding of Leica’s heritage, paired with hands-on experience working with collectors, retailers, and enthusiasts worldwide, makes him a trusted voice in communicating the brand’s horological vision. Beyond his work with Leica, he remains deeply involved in the wider watch industry—collaborating with influential voices, producing creative campaigns, and engaging with collector communities across the globe.
