JOIN FLORAL ARTIST YVETTE EDWARDS FOR A HANDS-ON WORKSHOP CELEBRATING THE BEAUTY OF WINTER
IN THIS HANDS-ON WORKSHOP, PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN HOW TO WEAVE A NATURAL WILLOW WREATH BASE BEFORE BEING GUIDED THROUGH THE PROCESS OF DECORATING IT WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF WINTER TREASURES.
Using a selection of seasonal foliage, berries, twigs, and seed heads, you will discover how to combine texture, colour, and form to create a unique, lightly structured wreath that reflects the simplicity and beauty of winter.
Along the way, you'll learn practical techniques and design tips to help your creation look balanced, natural, and long-lasting. This workshop offers a creative and enjoyable way to spend a winter day, and your finished wreath will be a beautiful celebration of the season.
SUSTAINABLE FLORISTRY
A special focus of this session is sustainable floral mechanics. As a group, you’ll explore practical, reusable techniques for creating a natural wreath.
You’ll create a striking, long-lasting arrangement to take home, along with skills you can confidently use again and again.
FLORAL DESIGNERYVETTE EDWARDS
Yvette is known for her natural, expressive approach to arranging. Drawing on seasonal, locally grown materials, her work celebrates movement, texture, and the unique character of each stem.
With a focus on thoughtful design and sustainable practice, Yvette shares practical techniques that encourage confidence and creativity — helping others to create arrangements that feel both intuitive and beautifully resolved.
Yvette is the Canterbury Horticultural Society’s next Margaret Watling Floral Demonstrator, leads the monthly CHS All About Flowers, [https://events.humanitix.com/all-about-flowers] group at The Kiosk, and is embracing life as a new mum.
We’re delighted Yvette has joined the CHS community and has a passion for teaching.
