About this Event
Portrait is where everything becomes visible.
The way you see colour,
the way you understand light,
and the way you construct a face.
Artist Hong Fu’s portrait works have been collected by major institutions,
and selected for the Archibald Prize 100 Years Exhibition touring exhibition,
presented across multiple countries, institutions and cultural platforms.
This is a rare opportunity to step into his way of seeing.
The Art of Seeing – Portrait Masterclass
In this session, you won’t just learn how to “paint a face”.
You will be guided to:
- understand skin tones beyond formula
- see subtle colour shifts in light and shadow
- avoid “flat” or “muddy” portrait painting
- build confidence in making colour decisions
A portrait reference will be provided,
so you can fully focus on how to see, not what to paint.
