Led by Helen Perry (fashion designer and historian) the group will meet for 4 weeks to:
*Raise awareness around chosen theme i.e. role of women and their achievements - historic and contemporary contributions.
*Learn sewing techniques, layout and cutting, assembly and skills, which can be taken beyond the workshop setting.
*Developing creative skills and confidence, along with new connections.
In the fifth and final session (to be organised just prior to Christmas) all three groups of participants (Bushmills, Garvagh and The Glens) will meet at the Courthouse, Bushmills, to reflect over their pieces to help understand one another’s communities.
*This workshop is free to attend, with all materials provided. The workshop is suitable for mixed ages and abilities. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided at each session. Transport to the final session at the Courthouse will be arranged.
