The Art of Kissing

Everyone remembers a great kiss.

But what actually makes one unforgettable?

Is it technique? Timing? Tension? Eye contact? Confidence? Novelty? The way someone lingers just a second longer than you expected?

In this playful, research-backed workshop, we'll explore the psychology, science, and artistry of kissing. You'll discover what research tells us about why we kiss, how kissing shapes attraction and attachment, and why one kiss can leave you thinking about someone for weeks while another is instantly forgettable.

Throughout the evening, we'll experiment with different styles of kissing through guided exercises designed to build awareness, anticipation, communication, and chemistry. We'll explore everything from teasing and playful kisses to slow, passionate, affectionate, and cinematic kisses—all at your own comfort level.

Come with someone you'd love to kiss. Bring a partner, a date, a friend with benefits, or someone you've been looking for an excuse to get closer to.

You'll spend the evening kissing only the person you came with, with optional opportunities to learn from other couples—watching each other kiss, stealing great moves, and giving playful direction like slower, softer, more teasing, or more dramatic.

Host Bio

Niki Davis-Fainbloom (she/her) is a Canadian-born, New York–based sex educator, researcher, author, and coach. Her work combines up-to-date research, humor, and practical tools to help people build healthier, more satisfying relationships. Since earning her master's degree from New York University, she has facilitated more than 500 sexuality education workshops at organizations including Planned Parenthood, New York University, and the United Nations. Her writing has been featured in MindBodyGreen, Cosmopolitan, and Insider, and her forthcoming book, Fetish: Smash Taboos and Celebrate What Turns You On (Hachette/Balance), explores the psychology, science, and culture of human desire while helping readers approach fetishes with curiosity rather than shame.
