The Art of Kimchi: A Hands-On Fermentation Workshop with Ferm Ground
Join Ferm Ground for an immersive, hands-on fermentation experience where you’ll learn to craft your own kimchi from scratch—and leave with the skills (and confidence) to keep fermenting at home.
Ferm Ground is rooted in over a decade of exploring fermentation and preservation. What began with a bottle of homemade peach wine has grown into a passion for rediscovering traditional methods, experimenting with bold flavors, and reconnecting people to the process of transforming food.
In this workshop, we’ll dive into the rich history of kimchi and fermentation, exploring why these practices have sustained cultures for generations—and why they’re more relevant than ever today.
What to expect:
- A guided introduction to fermentation and kimchi traditions
- A hands-on, step-by-step kimchi-making experience
- Tips on flavor customization and safe fermentation practices
- Insight into how these techniques apply to other ferments
Each participant will make their own custom batch of kimchi and take home a quart-sized jar to ferment and enjoy.
Your ticket includes a cocktail or mocktail to sip while you work. You’re also welcome to enjoy an assortment of beverages from The Silos main bar or grab food from one of the on-site purveyors, including Fête, Burger Bistro, Nood Bar, or Kung Fu BBQ.
Whether you’re completely new or already fermentation-curious, this workshop is designed to be approachable, creative, and deeply satisfying.
