Event Overview

This free, fun, and creative Autism-friendly event is an opportunity for the community to come together and collaborate on a temporary mural that promotes Autism awareness, acceptance, inclusion, and kindness in Asbury Park! Through this interactive, sensory-friendly art experience, participants will decorate blank puzzle and heart pieces, contributing to a public art display that celebrates unity, acceptance, and the beauty of neurodiversity. The completed mural will be assembled and displayed in the Asbury Park Library, featuring your artwork! All ages and abilities are welcome to take part in creating something meaningful and inspiring for the community!

There were no words needed, no wrong way to create- it was just a fun, accessible, and safe way for him to express himself freely. Now, being able to share the power of art with others while fostering awareness, kindness, empathy, inclusion, and positive representation means so much to us.”

Event Goals

• Promote Inclusion: Art activities are accessible to all participants, ensuring that everyone can contribute in their own way.

Raise Awareness & Acceptance: The completed mural will serve as a visual representation of support, love, and understanding for the Autism Community.

Event Description

• Get Creative: Decorate puzzle and heart-shaped pieces with markers, paints, stickers, and personal messages that will come together to form an amazing community mural displayed at the Asbury Park Public Library.
• Coloring & Arts and Crafts Table: Kids and families can color, draw, and create freely; includes pages from the “Autism Through The Alphabet” ABC Coloring Book.
• Visit the Junior Library: Explore a special collection of books highlighting Autism awareness, kindness, and inclusion, and enjoy an extra space for coloring and crafting in a calm and welcoming environment.
• Enjoy Snacks & Treats: Grab a bite, including tasty snacks from our friends at Crust & Crumble while you connect with the community.
• Take-Home Goodie Bags: Every child will receive a mini treat bag filled with coloring supplies and sensory-friendly items for continued fun and creativity at home.
• Resource Table: Families can access helpful flyers, brochures, and information from local organizations that support Autism families.

This event is open to all ages and abilities, creating a welcoming and inclusive space for creativity, connection, and community support. Come be part of something meaningful!
