Join award-winning Roelene Prinsloo and Anna Montali for an inspiring and practical workshop on food photography and styling.
In this hands-on session, Roelene will share her professional insights into lighting, composition, angles, camera gear, and the subtle techniques that elevate food imagery. The workshop begins with a one-hour theory segment, where she’ll guide you through the essential tips and tricks to make your food photos stand out, supported by a selection of her own work for discussion and inspiration.
Anna will lead the food styling component of the workshop. She’ll delve into the art and technique of styling food for the camera, sharing her extensive knowledge and demonstrating—step by step—how to bring dishes to life visually. You’ll also get the chance to work hands-on with Roelene and Anna during the practical session, learning how thoughtful styling and photography go hand in hand.
In the practical session you’ll be exploring four distinct lighting setups:
Shooting with natural light
Creating a natural-light look using a simple one-light setup
Crafting a dramatic mood with a moody light setup
How to light drinks effectively
