CONCERT AND PRESENTATION German-American mezzo-soprano Carola Emrich-Fisher and Australian pianist Lara Dodds perform UK premiere of part 1 of song cycle The Art of Fishing (el arte de la pesca) by Virginia Firnberg. Words - Luisa Etxenike. A song cycle is a set of songs based on a set of thematic poems.

Set in the Basque country in Spain, the songs tell the story of a grandfather abuser and his grandchild - the victim, who resists and overcomes the abuse using creativity. The songs show how you can transform trauma into creativity using the arts.

The composer, Virginia Firnberg will precede the performance with a presentation about the piece.
