MAY 17, 2026Asian Social Institute Hosts Lecture Series on Applied Cosmic Anthropology in Baguio City
MANILA, Philippines — The Asian Social Institute (ASI) is inviting researchers, educators, and cultural advocates to The Art of Exploring the Praxis of Applied Cosmic Anthropology (Lecture Series 2).
The three-day event will take place from May 20 to 22, 2026, at the scenic Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary in Baguio City.
This lecture series brings together an esteemed lineup of scholars and cultural icons to explore the intersections of spirituality, culture, local knowledge, and modern technology:
May 20: Dr. Felipe M. de Leon, Jr. will open the series with Asian Culture and Values (9:00 AM), followed by Dr. Jeffrey A. Lubang’s session on Erihiya, Local Knowledge, and the Praxis of Applied Cosmic Anthropology (1:30 PM).
May 21: Dr. Joseph Richard C. Renta III will discuss Art and Spirituality (9:00 AM), followed by National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik, who will deliver a lecture titled Dekolonisasyong Sagad-Buto (1:30 PM).
May 22: Dr. Marco M. Polo will tackle Caring for People, Planet & Progress in an Age of Intelligent Machines (9:00 AM), and Dr. Mina M. Ramirez will conclude the event with Creation Spirituality (1:30 PM).

Participants can choose between two registration packages, both inclusive of a certificate, learning materials, lunch, and snacks:
Full Registration: ₱3,200
Day Lecture Only: ₱1,500
