The Art of Brain Health and Research
About this Event
Join us for a free Gallery Day during World Alzheimer’s Month
Scottish Brain Sciences invites you to join us at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art ONE for a relaxed and welcoming drop in event focused on brain health and Alzheimer’s research.
You can come to Art Space One any time between 10am and 2pm to meet our team, ask questions and find out more about:
- current Alzheimer’s and brain health research
- what taking part in research or a clinical trial involves
- developments in earlier diagnosis and treatment
- opportunities to get involved in research with Scottish Brain Sciences
A representative from Alzheimer Scotland will also be there to provide information and advice for people affected by dementia, including people who have recently received a diagnosis, family members and carers.
There is no obligation to take part in research. The event is simply an opportunity to come along, ask questions and find out more.
Optional guided gallery tour
An optional guided tour of the gallery will take place at 11am, led by two of the gallery’s experienced dementia-friendly guides.
The tour can accommodate up to 35 guests, so places are limited and must be reserved in advance when booking. You are also very welcome to attend the Gallery Day without joining the tour.
Who is the event for?
Everyone is welcome. You may be:
- experiencing changes in your memory
- going through the diagnosis process
- living with mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s disease
- someone with a family history of dementia
- a family member, friend or carer
- simply interested in brain health or Alzheimer’s research
You are welcome to attend alone or bring someone with you. Each person attending should register for a free place.
Accessibility
We want the event to be as accessible and welcoming as possible. Please tell us about any accessibility requirements when registering, or contact the Scottish Brain Sciences team before the event.
The event will take place in Art Space One on level 2, which has lift access. Signs will be in place, and gallery staff can direct you when you arrive.
