About this Event
🍂 The Art of Autumn: A Sensory Workshop for Children Ages 3–6 🍂
Step into the magic of the season! In this hands-on workshop, little artists will create open-ended process art using autumn’s natural treasures—pumpkin and apple stamps, branches, pinecones, and acorns. No paintbrushes allowed—just imagination, curiosity, and the beauty of fall!
This immersive experience is more than just art—it’s a chance to explore, play, and grow through creativity and nature:
🎨 Creative Expression – Children experiment with textures, colors, and patterns, boosting confidence and imagination.
🔢 STEM in Action – Stamping, stacking, and arranging natural items introduces concepts of balance, patterns, and early math skills.
💬 Social & Emotional Growth – Working alongside peers, sharing materials, and expressing their ideas builds cooperation, empathy, and self-expression.
✋ Fine Motor Skill Building – Grasping, pressing, and stamping with seasonal objects strengthens coordination and independence.
👃 Sensory Exploration – The scents, textures, and sounds of autumn materials engage children’s senses in joyful, calming ways.
At Friendship in the Feld, we believe every leaf, pinecone, and acorn holds a spark of creativity. Each child will leave with unique autumn artwork—and the memories of a season celebrated through play.

⏱️This Session's Agenda:
The workshop will begin with a short circle time, featuring a themed read-aloud and a fun movement activity to help kids warm up and connect. After that, children will dive into the art-making process. A cozy sensory bin free play and book area will also be available throughout the session for children for welcome play, who need a break throughout the session, or finish their art work early.
Looking forward to growing with you!
Further information: We will provide all craft and sensory materials as well as a caring and nurturing environment for safe and supported learning. We suggest you feed your child a small snack before the session, but will have some dry goods (rice crackers, raisins) on site just in case. We will also be providing coffee and tea for caregivers to enjoy while their children learn. We ask parents stay on site in case their child is struggling to join or having big feelings, but otherwise we invite adults in attendance to sit back, relax, and meet other parents. There is a toilet available for patrons but no changing table.
Who we are: Meggie and Raela are your teachers with Friendship in the Feld, an early childhood development program providing play-based educational workshops for children. We are two early childhood educators with more than 20 years of combined experience with young children. Through sensory experiences, art exploration and child-led play, we aim to support social-emotional learning and help develop community and school readiness skills.
