The Griswold Auditorium is proud to present The Art of Allegan, a community arts fundraiser benefiting the historic Griswold Auditorium on Saturday, March 14, 2026. This family-friendly event brings together artists, small businesses, and arts enthusiasts for a full day of creative activities, live entertainment, workshops, and more, all in support of preserving and enhancing one of Allegan’s cherished cultural landmarks.Event Highlights
• 9:00am – 6:00pm: Concessions, art sale, and silent auction – featuring original works and unique items from local artists.
• 10:00am – 12:00pm & 2:00pm – 4:00pm: Guided art classes in the Griswold Banquet Room – perfect for beginners and seasoned creatives alike.
• 10:00am – 4:00pm: Drop-in DIY art projects at partnering venues including The Sassy Olive, The Eccentric Garden, and Essenburg Arts (locations around Downtown Allegan)
• 10:30am – 2:00am: FREE Behind the Scenes at The Griswold tours – offered at multiple times throughout the day for visitors to explore the nooks and crannies of the venue.
• 11:00am – 7:00pm: Food trucks
• 4:15pm: Special screening of Loving Vincent in the Griswold Auditorium with a preview presentation by the Allegan Community Players. Admission is $5.00.
• 6:45pm: Silent auction wrap-up and announcement of winning bids.
Registration & Tickets:
Participants are encouraged to sign up in advance for classes and workshops. Details on class descriptions, prices, and registration can be found via the official event page’s “sign up for a class” section.
All proceeds from The Art of Allegan benefit the Griswold Auditorium to support building improvements, preservation efforts, and year-round programming at the historic venue. The Griswold, built in 1929, continues to serve as a cultural hub for theatrical performances, concerts, community events, and more.
