The Art Department · A Conversation with Tim Sample & Linda Rowell-Kelley

What happens when two artists who met in art school in 1969 find their way onto the same stage more than 50 years later?
About this Event

Meetinghouse Arts welcomes nationally renowned Maine humorist Tim Sample and his longtime friend and fellow visual artist Linda Rowell-Kelley, for a lively, funny, and fascinating journey into the creative imagination, moderated by Emmy Award-winning host Dan Cashman, presented by The Spice & Tea Exchange of Freeport.

Their friendship began in art school in Maine in 1969, and their artistic journeys have taken them down very different roads. Now, they come together to explore the winding paths, unexpected detours, and incredible views that shape a lifetime of creative expression.

What inspires an artist? Where do ideas come from? And how do artists venture into the invisible world of imagination and return with something extraordinary to share with the rest of us?

Through storytelling, humor, personal reflections, and a shared history spanning more than five decades, Sample and Rowell-Kelley will invite audiences into the mysterious, unpredictable, and often hilarious world of artistic creation.

Part storytelling, part artistic adventure, and full of the humor and wisdom that come from a lifetime of friendship and creativity, this promises to be an evening unlike any other.

“This event celebrates something at the heart of Meetinghouse Arts: the power of creativity to connect people, spark curiosity, and bring unexpected ideas to life,” said Suzanne Watson, Executive Director of Meetinghouse Arts.
