The Art & Alchemy of Gong Playing – One-Day Workshop
On Friday, July 17, 2026, Alexandra and Alejandro invite you to a special one-day workshop.
In this workshop, various ways of playing the gong will be demonstrated, explained, explored in depth, and practiced hands-on. This unique approach to gong playing is based on their many years of experience as Gong Puja night players and gong trainers.
Playing Gong Alchemy
How do you play patterns and rhythms on the gong?
How can you create deep, pulsating tones?
How can different mallets be combined to create mystical and powerful soundscapes?
Dive into the art of Trance Playing and discover a wide variety of possibilities to play the gong in a deeply touching and transformative way.
The workshop concludes with a Gong Circle, where the essence of the playing techniques explored together can be freely experienced and deepened.
Together we will explore the alchemy of gong strokes and their application in different contexts:
- Gong Baths
- Gong Puja Nights
- Nervous-system-friendly and resource-oriented settings
What are the differences between these applications? What do they have in common? And how can we consciously adapt our playing to the respective situation?
This workshop is aimed at gong players of all experience levels. We look forward to opening a space for encounter, exchange, networking, co-creation, and shared learning. Bring your questions with you!
To ensure individual guidance and a supportive learning atmosphere, this workshop takes place in a small group. The main workshop language is English; explanations will be given in German as needed. However: At the center is feeling!
Our teaching approach is based on lived embodiment. Through the art of gong playing, we convey presence and create a space in which inspiration can arise and one’s own creativity can unfold and integrate naturally.
