The Amazing Green Race - 2026
About this Event
Calling youth aged 13 to 24 to join the Amazing Green Race across Mississauga on Wednesday, July 29th from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
This is an outdoor event where youth compete in environmental challenges as they race across Mississauga.
Climate-focused challenge stations will be set up across three neighbourhoods in Mississauga. Teams of 3-5 will use customized maps to walk, roll, or ride public transit between checkpoints.
Cycling, rollerblades, skateboards and scooters are all allowed. But cars? Not an option.
At each checkpoint, teams will be given clues and tools to complete activities. Every completed task will earn them a stamp for their eco-passports and move one step closer to victory. When the last checkpoint is complete, teams will then race to the finish line for one final challenge to decide the winners.
The day wraps up with PRIZES at the closing ceremonies where racers can enjoy provided lunch & refreshments, learn about local organizations, and hang out with their peers!
The start location is Hazel McCallion Central Library (301 Burnhamthorpe Rd. West, Mississauga) and the race ends at Forest Glen Park (3545 Fieldgate Dr. Mississauga).
The 2026 Amazing Green Race is hosted by the Peel Environmental Youth Alliance, Ecosource, and the City of Mississauga.
