PARKING & ARRIVAL
To ensure a smooth arrival at The Alpha 5K, there will be two established and distinct parking locations with separate access points depending on the patron’s direction of travel.
Parking North: Harper Lake Open Space
- Best For: Early arrivals and those looking for a fully paved walk.
- Capacity: Limited (First-come, first-served).
- The Route: This lot offers a safe, pedestrian-friendly walk to the race.
From the lot, patrons will take the concrete walking paths directly through the pedestrian underpass safely underneath the McCaslin Boulevard main thoroughfare, guiding you straight into the Alpha Commons and the starting line.
South Parking: Top of the Mesa Lot
- Best For: The vast majority of participants and later arrivals.
- Capacity: Abundant. This is the main parking area with the highest volume of available spaces and overflow availability.
- The Route: Located at the southern parking space right at the top of the Mesa, patrons will take a short, direct walk straight to the Alpha Commons and the starting line.
STARTING LINE
The Starting Line
The race begins on the wide, elevated gravel plateau of the Davidson Mesa Trail, where the flat horizon meets the dramatic backdrop of the Flatirons.
- The Atmosphere: A low-frequency hum of energy fills the air as runners congregate in pace-ordered start groups.
- The Setup: Sponsor and Vendor Banners flank the trail, defining the boundaries of the starting zone without disturbing the natural, unkept grass of the mesa.
- The Momentum: As the opening bell signals the runners, the sound of rhythmic footfalls on crushed gravel replaces the pre-race chatter, sending a stream of participants toward the western horizon.
FINISH LINE
The Course Finish Line
The finish line is positioned as a definitive goal, 3.1 miles, visible from nearly a half-mile away across the open landscape.
- The Visual: A large, inflatable arch is boldly branded with the Alpha identity, spanning the width of the gravel path.
- The Technical Core: Adjacent to the arch sits the Timing Station, a hub of high-accuracy digital clocks and RFID mats that record every bit of effort the runners have invested.
- The Climax: Spectators line the path opposing the wooden fencing to and event tents to the right, cheering as runners complete the race.
PRE & POST RACE COMMONS
The Alpha Commons & Partner Exchange
Located immediately past the finish chute and set back into the tall, golden grasses of the mesa, this area serves as the event's post-race commons.
- The Liquidity Station: The first point of contact for finishers is where they realize gains from their investment, followed immediately by the Winners Podium. This station offers essential hydration and electrolytes to stabilize post-race hydration.
- The Photo Op & Awards Podium: A three-tier podium set against a branded backdrop allows top performers to document their ROI from the morning of fun.
- The Growth Exchange: A series of partner tents set as a strategic networking hub where athletic achievement meets professional opportunity.
- Strategic Partnerships: The exchange acts as a live Secondary Market, following participants to transition from the physical exertion of the race into meaningful dialogue with sponsors.
- Knowledge Transfer: In place of standard sales pitches, vendors provide Insights which function to enhance networking, business community, and awareness.
- The Investment in Health: Sponsors interact with runners as Managing Partners in their wellness journey, offering recovery tools and nutritional assets designed to provide long-term physical dividends.
- Professional Connection: The space between the tents is designed to facilitate the Closing of professional gaps, where local business leaders and investment professionals connect over shared interests.
- Value-Added Engagement: Every interaction is a Due Diligence opportunity, allowing runners and spectators to vet new services and products that align with the high standards of the Alpha brand.
- The Overall Aesthetic: Maintaining a Leave No Trace ethos, these tents float atop the unkept grass using modular flooring, preserving the environment while providing a clean, stable space for sponsors and investment partners to network.
MOTORCYCLE LINEUP
As an extension of the Alpha Commons is the pit stop for riders, fans, and event members to drop the kickstand, talk strategy, and fuel up.
Whether you’re looking to talk tech over a pair of handlebars, debate track lines, or just grab a bite to eat, this is where real race-day community happens.
From kickoff to the post race, cool down, pull up, dig in, and connect. Before the race starts, kick off your day here. Survey the machinery rolling in, and swap predictions for the track ahead. During the heat of the race, wander a lineup of local food trucks offering grub while keeping the race-day energy buzzing in the background as finishers close the distance.
The Winner’s Circle Social: Once the checkered flag drops, bring your food, and break down the day’s best moves, lap times, and near-misses with fellow enthusiasts. Close out your morning of fun with raw horsepower, great food, and unmatched conversation.
OFF-LEASH DOG PARK
The Davidson Mesa trailhead features an Off-Leash Dog Park where four-legged fans are more than welcome to join the fun provided they are attended to and cleaned up after!
