About this Event
About the Session
Generative AI is dominating corporate sustainability conversations, but it can be difficult to separate theoretical buzzwords from tools that actually make your day-to-day work easier. Designed for the Diploma in Social Responsibility & Sustainability at USMC, this session cuts through the hype to focus strictly on practical, on-the-ground AI workflows.
Rather than discussing generic "ESG optimization," Dr. Panos Panagiotakopoulos will demonstrate how accessible AI tools, such as Gemini, NotebookLM, and emerging agent-based AI, can act as a powerful extension of your sustainability team to tackle the exact pain points you face daily.
What You Will LearnThrough real-world, highly practical demonstrations, participants will learn how to use AI to:
- Synthesize Complex Frameworks:
Rapidly cross-reference and make sense of multiple, dense sustainability
standards and reporting frameworks. - Bridge Data Gaps: Clean, categorize, and
complete missing quantitative data in greenhouse gas inventories or
footprint pledges (e.g., the Cool Food Pledge). - Simulate Stakeholder Engagement:
Create customized AI personas to anticipate diverse stakeholder reactions,
analyze feedback, and improve program design. - Build Stronger Business Cases:
Utilize AI research capabilities to articulate the indirect,
hard-to-quantify benefits of sustainability initiatives to secure
executive buy-in.
