Map the System 2026 at Humber Polytechnic

Join us for an evening of student-driven insight, innovation, and applied systems thinking, as Humber’s top Map the System teams present their research on some of the most pressing challenges shaping our world.

Humber's competition showcase will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at Humber Polytechnic’s Downtown Campus (59 Hayden Street).

Over 200 Humber students have participated in this year’s Map the System competition. At this year's showcase, our top-ranked teams will present their research on challenges close to home and globally—from Toronto’s hospital capacity crisis and transit systems to the attention economy, climate impacts of generative AI, and more.

Using systems research and mapping, students have researched root causes, uncovered feedback loops and hidden assumptions, and identified leverage points for meaningful change. This event offers a chance to hear directly from these systems thinkers about the ideas shaping their work.

About Map the System at Humber

Humber Polytechnic was the first polytechnic in the world to join the University of Oxford’s Map the System competition.

Now in its 7th year, Humber’s program continues to lead in student participation and international collaboration. Humber teams have earned national recognition, first-place finishes, and a top-six global placement at the Oxford Global Finals, competing against more than 50 institutions worldwide.
