The Mad and Merry Men present the third installment in their 10-month Sherlock Holmes series in Prague!A young governess. A generous salary. It seems harmless enough... until she realizes she’s living in a house full of locked doors, strange whispers, and a master with too many secrets.
This November, The Mad and Merry Men turn the lens toward one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most unsettling domestic mysteries with a new stage adaptation of The Copper Beeches. Holmes and Watson are drawn from Baker Street to the quiet countryside, where the genteel calm of English respectability masks obsession, captivity, and the quiet terror of a woman who may never be allowed to leave.
Following the success of A Scandal in Bohemia and Black Peter, this marks the third play in our ambitious series: 10 stories, 10 months, 10 thrilling evenings of Victorian sleuthing. Each production is a stripped-down, black box staging – intimate, immediate, and historically authentic in costume and props, while boldly reimagined for a modern audience.
