"A Scandal in Bohemia" is the first short story featuring literatures most famous detective – and what better story to kick off our series of Sherlock Holmes plays in Prague?The crown prince of Bohemia hires Sherlock Holmes to retrieve a compromising photograph of him and Irene Adler, his former lover and world renowned adventurer, before his upcoming royal marriage. But Holmes soon finds out that Adler is not as easily outsmarted as his usual adversaries…
This theatrical season, The Mad and Merry Men will present a new adaptation of a classic Sherlock Holmes Story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle every month – 10 months, 10 plays. The shows will be filled out by readings, short film screenings, talk backs with cast and crew and some unexpected surprises…
The plays will be scaled back black box stagings, but with costumes and props historically accurate. While the stories are set in Victorian Age, they will be fresh, fast and contemporary feeling new adaptations.
"A Scandal in Bohemia" is directed by Gordon L. Schmitz after a script by Mike Langer.
