THE ABUNDANCE OF LITTLE BIRDSA workshop with Barry Goldwasser Paxtor

In a private garden, Berkeley, CA
You are warmly invited to join a three-hour workshop that brings together somatic bodywork, physical theater, and knowledge from Mayan traditions, shared in ways that speak to daily life.
We will gather in a quiet garden space to explore how movement can become a creative, transformative, and loving language. The workshop focuses on the symbolic weight of the experiences that shape the story of our lives.
In the Mayan worldview of Guatemala, time flows in cycles. Each day is marked by a specific energy known as a Nahual, which influences everything—within and around us.
On August 30, the Nahual of the day is Tz’ikin, often associated with abundance and love.
This energy helps connect life’s intentions with the roots of our purpose and the growth of our projects—so they may stay in balance and serve ourselves, our families, and our communities.
On Tz’ikin days, it is customary to focus on personal projects and offer seeds to the birds—who are seen as guardians and generous guides of abundance and affection.
Just like birds, we too carry a vital inheritance—something that calls to be remembered and honored, so that our material and spiritual lives remain in balance.
This workshop is shared with love and care, in respect for the teachings passed down through my Mayan Indigenous tradition. It is an invitation to meet in a space of clear, simple connection.
What to expect:
A practice focused on reconnecting shared purpose in community
A one-on-one conversation about how your birth Nahual relates to the energy of the day
Guided meditations to move the body from a state of rest and clarity—beyond the mind, through what resonates
