The ABCs of Astrology

Heard that you are a certain "star sign" because of your birthdate, but are curious to learn more?

This class is for you!

Together, we will demystify the ancient practice of astrology, including explaining the different elements of a birth chart (signs, houses, and planets) and how they work together. We'll examine how planetary relationships influence different areas of your life, what it means for you individually, and how you can use that knowledge in your work, relationships, and everyday decision-making.

If accessible, please bring your birth time and location to class. Please also bring a laptop or mobile device where you can pull up your own chart.

This class will be part instructional and part interactive. By the end, you will have a preliminary understanding of how to: connect the planets to each other, synthesize a birth chart, and apply astrological insights to your daily life.

No prior astrology knowledge required, just curiosity. See you there!

About the teacher: 

Lesley Brock is a policy researcher, writer, and astrologer, and the founder of Smartt Strategies, a decision-making practice that integrates policy analysis, psychology, and astrological insight.

She holds two master’s degrees from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and is a TEDx speaker, with work focused on how people and institutions make decisions under conditions of uncertainty.

Across her writing, teaching, and consulting, Lesley specializes in translating dense or abstract systems — political, economic, or psychological — into frameworks people can actually use. Through Smartt Strategies, she works with nonprofits and organizations on rigorous policy analysis and strategic research, and with individuals on applied astrological insight for decision-making, emotional regulation, and long-range planning. She also works with select organizations that integrate astrology into their strategic or cultural decision-making processes.
