This highly anticipated event will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 6p in Chesapeake, VA bringing together philanthropists, educators, community leaders, and advocates to support the mission of empowering and uplifting children and families in need!
The "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" Gala will be a night of elegance, inspiration, and impact, featuring live entertainment, an exquisite dining experience, and featuring Grammy Nominated artist, Kenny Lattimore and more!
This year's theme draws inspiration from the idea that, despite life's storms, there is always a brighter future ahead with the right support and opportunities.
ALL Funds raised during the evening will directly support Mile High Kids' initiatives, including mentorship programs, educational scholarships, mental health services, and family support resources.
In addition, Mile High Kids and Community Development will be honoring Community leaders in childhood education, youth development/mentorship, and mental health.

*In the event a guest wishes to cancel a reservation, the deposit is refundable if notice is received at least 72 hours prior to the day of arrival and a cancellation number is obtained.
Guestroom room and taxes will be charged to the individual.
Incidental fees (ie. Telephone calls, market purchases, guestroom damages, etc.) will be the responsibility of individual guests.
The hotel will require a credit card upon check-in to authorize up to $50 per night as an incidental hold. These funds will be released within 3-7 business days, depending upon the credit card merchant. The hotel releases the funds immediately upon departure and credit card merchants determine the length of time the funds are held on the card.
All guestroom rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes (currently 15% plus a flat rate tax of $1.00 per room, per night). Taxes are subject to change.

Mile High Kids and Community Development, Inc. (MHK) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities in Virginia Beach, VA, and the Northern Neck region. Our mission is to prepare children and families for success by providing high-quality early childhood education, family support services, and community engagement programs tailored to the unique needs of economically disadvantaged populations.
MHK operates five locations with twelve classrooms in Virginia Beach and five locations with six classrooms in the Northern Neck, serving over 1,000 families annually. About Kenny Lattimore
With a career spanning over two decades, highlighted by his breakthrough single “Never Too Busy” and the wedding staple “For You,” Kenny is an inductee of the National R&B Hall of Fame, has received Grammy and Soul Train Award nominations, Top 10 singles, Top 20 R&B albums and an NAACP Image Award for Best New Artist, while staying sincere about giving his heart and soul to communities through music.
