Please Join Us for the 5th Annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon on Saturday, May 30th at 12:00 PM, hosted by the Cincinnati NAACP's W.I.N. [Women In NAACP] Committee, for an unforgettable afternoon of celebration, sisterhood, and purpose!!This year, we gather in the same spirit of galship ~ intentionally showing love, support, and solidarity to one another while uplifting the extraordinary accomplishments of women working right here among us, in our own communities. Together, we will celebrate the collective impacts women continue to make as Leaders, advocates, entrepreneurs, caregivers, creatives, and change agents.
We are especially proud to honor the enduring Legacy of Legendary Cincinnati Civil rights icon, "Mother" Marian Spencer. A trailblazer in every sense of the word, Mrs. Spencer was the First African-American woman elected to the Cincinnati City Council, the First African-American woman to serve as the Vice-Mayor, AND The First Woman to serve as President of the Cincinnati NAACP, and a relentless champion for fair housing, education equity, and justice. Her leadership in the fight to desegregate Coney Island helped open public spaces to Black families and cemented her place in history as a fearless advocate for equality. She didn’t just call for change, she organized for it, demanded it, and embodied it.
Because of women like Marian Spencer, we stand taller. Because of women like YOU, our communities continue to thrive and we are better.
