BLUEGRASS!!!! The Glove Theatre's 518 Concert Series is thrilled to welcome Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys -- The Capital Region Thomas Edison ("Eddies") 2022, 2023 and 2024 Award Winner -- Country/Bluegrass Artist of the Year!!! The band is also a fan favorite at many Bluegrass Festivals! Jim Gaudet and The Railroad Boys play bluegrass AND incredible original songs while diving into different genres. Jim sings with an authentic style that draws you in with humor and emotion -- always fresh and powerful. Jim's songwriting is as good as it gets. Each song tells a unique story.
Rounding out the Railroad Boys are Bob Buckley (bass), Sten Ischsen (mandolin), Sara Milonovich or Tucker Callander (fiddle), and Richie Pagano (piano). This band has a ton of fun on stage and shares their love of the music and friendship with the audience.
Jim spent three decades repositioning bluegrass for contemporary fans who enjoy a broad pallet of Americana influences in their music. They’ve enjoyed standing ovations at festivals across the country including four International Bluegrass Music Association festivals of the year: Wintergrass in Seattle; Joe Val in Boston; Podunk in Hartford, Grey Fox in Oak Hill, New York; plus the IBMA’s Bluegrass Ramble in Raleigh, NC.
The late Lena Spencer of Caffe Lena, the renowned Saratoga coffee house, encouraged Jim to write his own music after he performed his version of Lefty Frizzel’s “Long Black Veil” more than three decades ago at the coffeehouse. Six albums of original music later, Jim and his Railroad Boys still play at Caffe Lena.
Jim and "the boys" bring the Ruckus! As the band says: "It ain't nothing but Hillbilly Rock n Roll"!
"Jim Gaudet and The Railroad Boys specialize in a progressively flavored bluegrass sound often containing wickedly funny, all original, satirical lyrics. They are consistently entertaining and have attracted an avid loyal audience. Don't miss an opportunity to see this band which offers a change of pace an a lot of up tempo fun." ~Ted Lehmann, Nominated annually for the IBMA Print/Media Person of the Year
