The 3rd Annual Jackson County Wellness Extravaganza will be held May 14th from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Milt Lunda Memorial Arena. It will again feature interactive stations that where participants can learn about the 8 dimensions of wellness. We will again have inflatables, hair tinsel, prizes, and a free meal while supplies last. We will have several new topics and activities this year, to include the Spread Your Wings Project. This will include Elizabeth Bryan-Jacobs, an artist and art therapist from New York, joining us to for activity that will combine the arts and emotional/mental wellness. Participants will be able to paint a feather that will be made into a large set of wings, with the final art piece being installed somewhere in Jackson County. This was made possible through a $10,000 Ashley Care Grant by Ashley for the Arts. The event is open to Jackson County residents of all ages and is a free event. The event is hosted by Jackson County Behavioral Health and Jackson County Public Health, with help from generous sponsors who we will be featuring right here.
