THE 3RD ANNUAL ABILENE SHOWDOWN - Main Event

The DFW Pinball League continues with its third stop for 2025 with another massive event.

The Main Event will be have a 200% TGP value
AND be an
IFPA CERTIFIED EVENT (Certified tournaments will receive an Event Booster of 125%).

This will be the 3RD ANNUAL ABILENE SHOWDOWN

Entering the Main Event also gives you access to ALL of the other events listed here.

Event Dates:

• Warmup Tournament: THURSDAY FEBRUARY 27, 2024 at 7:00 PM (door open at 6)
• Max Matchplay Qualifying/Target Matchplay Finals Tournament:
  FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28 at 11:00 AM (doors open at 10)
• Beat the Clock Qualifying/Amazing Race Finals Tournament:
  FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28 at 6:00 PM (after a break between the two)
• * Main Event Qualifying: SATURDAY MARCH 1 at 10:00 AM (doors open at 9). *
• * Main Event Finals: SUNDAY MARCH 2 at 10:00 AM (doors open at 9). *

**** WARMUP TIME STARTS 30 MINUTES BEFORE EACH TOURNAMENT ****

COST AND REFUND TERMS:

If playing in the MAIN EVENT, cost is $65 per person plus platform fees for Eventbrite!
Your Main Event entry INCLUDES entry into ALL four (4) tournaments.

The other 3 torunaments are UNCAPPED on attendance! The more the merrier!

If SKIPPING the Main Event (or if you didn't get in before it sold out, then the cost for the other tournaments, payable at the door, is as follows:
Warmup Tournament - $5
Both Friday Tournaments - $15 each or $25 total for both

Refunds will be offered through Eventbrite until 10 days prior to the event.
No refunds will be issued for any reason after that date.

Warmup Tournament:
ONE STRIKE TOURNAMNET WITH "BUY BACK IN" CLAUSE
It will be a strikes tournament - we will update this page with more detail as available.

Max Matchplay Qualifying/Target Matchplay Finals Tournament:
Standard published IFPA rules for a Max Matchplay and a Target Matchplay Tournament.

Beat the Clock Qualifying/Amazing Race Finals Tournament:
Standard published IFPA rules for a Matchplay Tournamnet (using beat the clock timing) and for an Amazing Race Tournament.

Main Event Qualifying:
QUALIFYING is "group matchplay style" on Saturday.
This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
There will be 10 rounds withe 2 games per round.

Main Event Finals:
FINALS is "Group Elimination/PAPA Style", which is similar to the above, but with lower performing players being eliminated as we go forward (until there's a winner).

This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
Top 24 in A will play in the finals. This WILL affect final standings.
The next 16 will play in the B finals.

B Division playoffs is playing for prizes - they do NOT affect final standings (as per published IFPA rules).

The B Division is restricted as follows for this event:

No one in the top 1000 in the IFPA as of 2/22/2024 may play in the B Division -- so many of the top players are excluded from the B Division so that ANYONE CAN WIN!

There will NOT be a KIDZ FINAL / kids tournament at this event.

I am looking on getting some food trucks on location. I will have waters and beer.
If someone wants something different then they can bring it.
