About this Event
This month we'll be hearing from , Head of Marketing at . James lives in Shrivenham with his young family, he used to be in an actual real-life signed-with-Universal-Records band, and now he spends his free time taking internet marketing courses because he's an ardent and unashamed marketing nerd.
LinkedIn is still the main social network for the working world, so businesses feel like they should have a presence on there. But most don't have any idea how to actually use the platform to grow their brand and drive new business.
So James will be giving us practical advice and real-life examples to help us take our company from passive to persuasive on LinkedIn, learning how to make both fans and money (without being salesy or spammy).
We'll be exploring how to use personal profiles - whether that's yours or another key face of the brand - alongside company pages, how to find and get in front of the right people, and how to serve them the kind of content that actually leads to leads. Plus we'll get some insights into the LinkedIn landscape and algorithm, tips for what makes a great post, and a sneak-peek at how to craft a connection request with twice the acceptance rate of the LI average.

How our gatherings usually go
🍻 6pm: Doors open for (free) drinks, marketing chit-chat, and - let's face it - probably at least some small talk about the weather
🧑‍🏫 6.15-7.15pm: A brilliant marketing talk from a knowledgeable and interesting human, plus some Q&A and informal group discussion
🤓 7.15-7.30pm: It’s GUS time (that’s Genuinely Useful Shit)
🍻 7.30-8pm: More (still free) drinks and fun chat, hopefully about more interesting stuff than the weather by this point
Hosted by brand voice strategist , in partnership with the fantastic .
Here you’ll find everyone from marketing managers and comms execs to freelancers, solo business owners, and students exploring the industry. If you’re interested in marketing, you’re welcome around the campfire.
