The Annual Peoplehood Parade & Pageant is a hand-made and people-powered celebration of solidarity, creativity, and courage. A day of participatory theater, live music, giant puppets, drums, and a city wide parade in West Philly that reminds us of our collective power and the importance of joining together against oppression.Peoplehood isn’t just a single day - it’s an art-making and community building process that takes hundreds of artists, activists, families, students and you to create! Each Peoplehood Parade and Pageant gives a glimpse into a future we can build if we had the opportunity (and courage) to work together for a more just, and joyful, Philly for us all.
Help make the parade & pageant:
Join Spiral Q and fellow community members this October at art builds and pageant and band rehearsals to develop and create this year's parade and pageant! No experience necessary!
Join the parade:
Community, activist, youth, and cultural groups can sign up to represent in the parade!
Individuals can drop in at noon as we line up at 50th & Walnut, or join the parade as you see us on the route.
Performances in the park:
The parade is followed by performances and the pageant in Clark Park at 45th & Chester around 2:30pm.
