About the Event
In 2025, our community came together to smash our mileage goals during the Windy 500. Now, it is time to do it again. Welcome to The 2026 Windy 500!

What is the Windy 500? It is Watchtree’s ultimate 24 hour endurance challenge. The mission is simple: we want to collectively clock up as many miles as possible in 24 hours. Whether you walk one lap or run an ultra distance, every mile counts.
The collective aim is 12,000 miles in 24 hours. Whether it’s one lap or forty+, more people mean more miles!
The name is a nod to our famously breezy conditions and a play on the iconic Indy 500 motor race. At Watchtree, it stands for freedom, fun, and pushing your personal limits in nature.
How it Works
The Route: Each lap of Watchtree’s perimeter route adds 2 miles to our grand total.
Your Goal: Set your own target, from 1 lap to 50+.
Your Schedule: Visit the reserve as many times as you like during the 24 hour period.
Your Pace: Walk, run, wheel, push, or dog walk. (No bikes, skateboards, or scooters).
The Finale: The challenge ends with a celebratory Trail Run in the final hour. Join us for a grand finale lap!
Inclusive & Accessible This event is for everyone. We welcome seasoned runners, families, wheelchair users, and dog walkers. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Non members: £10
Watchtree members: £8

On the day: Entry is also available during the 24 hours of the event, just head to the registration area
Team Challenge Info
Gather a team of up to 8 people (dogs count too!) to see who can rack up the most miles. It is perfect for running clubs, workplaces, and groups of friends. Just enter your team name when you individually register.
