“Lawyers behind the Game: How Team General Counsel Shape the Future of Sports.”

The 2026 Moorad Symposium will feature General Counsel from Philadelphia’s professional sports organizations, including the 76ers, Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Union , as well as the New Jersey Devils, who will discuss their multifaceted roles as chief legal strategists, risk managers, and business advisors. Panelists will explore the ever-evolving landscape of college athletics, a year after the House settlement and how these changes are reshaping recruiting, compliance and athlete representation. The conversation will also examine the economic and legal impact of major sporting events—such as the Major League Baseball All-Star Game and the FIFA World Cup—on host cities, including stadium financing, public subsidies and long-term community development.
