The 2026 Edible Columbia Garden Tour
The 2026 Edible Columbia Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, June 27th. If you are interested in sustainable garden techniques like soil amendments, food forests, bed design for function and production, native plants and shared garden plots, please join us!!! Each stop will feature a drink or dish that can be made from the plants you are looking at. Sliding scale donations suggested at $5-20 and tickets are available at the Peace Nook, 804 E Broadway.
Tour begins at the Ann St. Garden at the corner of McAlester and N. Ann Street (802 N. Ann St.) Meet at 10:25 and we will begin at 10:30.
+Stop 1: Ann Street Garden - Find out what various local gardeners have done in a shared space garden setting and just how much production can be had in a relatively small and efficient food garden plot.
+Stop 2: Richardson St - A refuge for birds, insects and people! This backyard garden plot has been 4 decades in the making. Matt Knowlton and Kathy Doisy, a former Community Garden Coalition president, have a lot of tips and tricks to share including using pollinators, watering strategies, and using perennial plants for feeding people and wildlife.
+Stop 3: Greenwood - See what our local soil scientist is up to in 2026. His food thicket of organic matter rich in biologically active, re-mineralized soils to promote vigorous vegetables should be well on its way to production. Find out how he is learning to protect native and medicinal plants from intense invasive pressure.
+Stop 4: TBD - food forest? Secret Garden?
Please RSVP here or buy a ticket at the Nook so we know how much food/drink to prepare.
Carpooling will be available and gardens are within 1-3 miles of downtown, so biking is an option!
Register to attend by calling or stopping by the Peace Nook at 804 Broadway (573-875-0539).
