Tickets are now available for the 2026 Barnet Scholars Lecture featuring Artist Teresa Baker in Conversation with Sayantan Mukhopadhyay, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Portland Museum of Art.Thursday, June 4, 6:00 PM
Through mixed media works combining natural and artificial materials, Baker creates abstracted landscapes that explore movement, perception, and place. An enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes (Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nations), Baker draws on her heritage while engaging the visual language of Euro-American modernist painting. Baker was named a 2025 Guggenheim Fellow and is currently a visiting artist at Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture.
