About this Event
Since 2020, the North Carolina Rice Festival's premier fundraising event and its only ticketed program have yearly featured renowned Gullah Geechee performing artists and a mouth-watering, Lowcountry-inspired menu from award-winning Chef and Festival Culinarian Keith Rhodes of Wilmington's Catch Restaurant. Hosted this year at a larger venue (but still in Brunswick County), the 2025 Gala--our fifth!--promises to deliver even more of the high-quality "edu-tainment" and enjoyment attendees have craved and raved about.
The annual North Carolina Gullah Geechee Heritage Dinner Gala is one of the most anticipated cultural celebrations in Brunswick County. Hosted by and held in advance of the , the Gala will once again revive and re-ignite the interest of diverse audiences in the intertwining agricultural, cultural, and historical forces that made the Brunswick County area one of the richest rice-growing regions of coastal North Carolina and the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor.
Live "edu-tainment" will be provided by renowned Gullah Geechee-themed performers (to be announced) whose stimulating presentations echo the Festival's overarching theme of "Education Through Celebration." The Gala menu, elegantly prepared and plated by award-winning Catch Restaurant Chef/Owner and , is another surefire draw. This year's Gala will also feature a Cash Bar and Silent Auction. Another exciting evening packed with enjoyment, good food, lively conversations, and sharing--not to be missed!
ABOUT THE NORTH CAROLINA RICE FESTIVAL: The North Carolina Rice Festivall attracts families, history enthusiasts, educators, tourists and residents alike to the Leland, North Carolina (Brunswick County), area to learn about and celebrate the region’s rich and diverse cultural history of rice farming. The Board of Directors of the North Carolina Rice Festival, Inc. (NCRFI) is dedicated to supporting efforts to preserve and promote the history and culture of our area, both within and beyond the planned Festivals.
