Beach Creative Art Auction in aid of the ‘RAISE THE ROOF’ campaign

Help Beach Creative ‘Raise the Roof’ by taking part in our Art Auction on Saturday 23rd November 2024!

WHAT IS ‘RAISE THE ROOF’?

Our campaign aims to expand and improve Beach Creative's existing facilities by converting the three large loft spaces we have into studios and rooms for hire.

This will enable Beach Creative to ensure that a legacy is in place for future generations to be involved in and run the organisation. We are currently developing a strong relationship with the young people in our district: encouraging them to bring their own ideas and projects to our community space; mentoring them to deliver on projects; working with them to develop their creative practice, and giving them an understanding of the business side of creative work, including skills for employability.

ABOUT THE AUCTION

There will be 40 artworks to bid on, featuring an amazing selection of paintings, prints, photography, sculptures and more, generously donated by Beach Creative's artists, supporters and community, including our patron, the eclectic artist Billy Childish. The listings will include guide prices, which range from £30 - £500, so there is sure to be something for everyone! No matter what your budget is, art collector or enthusiast, please come along! The auction will be ticketed at £5.00 per person, including an alcoholic or soft drink. It’s set to be a fantastic evening for all!

PREVIEW EVENING Friday 22nd November

There will be an opportunity to browse the artworks up for grabs on Friday, 22nd November from 6pm to 8pm at Beach Creative. You’ll be able to take your time and enjoy drinks and nibbles while you see what's on offer!

ON THE DAY Saturday 23rd November

TOAST CAFÉ

Toast Café will be hosting a bar during the evening, from 6pm onwards, where you will be able to pick up your FREE glass of wine, beer or a soft drink, which is included in the ticket price. Toast will then be open for normally priced drinks throughout the proceedings.

THE AUCTION

6pm: Doors open for the auction. Grab a glass of wine or a soft drink and your auction paddle and take your seat.

7pm: Start of auction. There will be a short interval when you can visit the bar and stretch your legs.

10pm (approx.): Auction ends, and your work can be collected.

COLLECTION OF WORKS Sunday 24th November

Most people will have taken work at the end of evening, but remaining items may be collected on Sunday if arranged with Beach Creative staff following the auction.

* There is ample parking surrounding Beach Creative CIC,

* Aldi provide 1.5-hour free parking (cameras are in operation - don't get caught out!)

* Surrounding Beach Creative there's a limited selection of on street parking offering 1 hour free (no restrictions after 6pm)

* Numerous streets surrounding the Memorial Garden with no restrictions or charge (5 min walk from Beach Creative - Dering Road, Stanley Road)
