About this Event

You’re invited to an intimate networking mixer for Philadelphia journalists hosted by The 19th, in conjunction with our , which supports early- and mid-career HBCU alums with full-time salaried roles in reporting, audience, news product and development.

We’re bringing together local journalists and The 19th community for an evening of conversation and connection. You’ll hang with fellows and fellowship leadership, 19th staff and Errin Haines, editor-at-large and president of the National Association of Black Journalists.

The goal is simple: to create space for journalists to meet and mingle, exchange ideas and build relationships—while giving our fellows the opportunity to grow their professional networks. Allergy-friendly light bites and an open bar will be provided.

Fellowship namesake Frances Ellen Watkins Harper was a 19th-century writer, journalist and abolitionist who spent much of her life in Philly, and whose legacy of truth-telling, civic engagement, upliftment and access continues to guide our fellowship.

We hope you’ll join us for a relaxed evening of connection with fellow journalists in the Philly area!

Please note: This event has limited capacity and RSVPs will close once we hit our cap.
