Ladies and gentlemen, Archers of the Tees is once again very excited, and proud to host and to offer you, distinguished ambassadors of the English Longbow, the privileged opportunity you all deserve and is your right as archers of the true discipline, the chance to gather and shoot for the title of WORLD WAND CHAMPION!!!The challenge is to be taken up at Raby Castle, near Staindrop in County Durham.
The entry fee to compete is £15.
The competition is open to people shooting the ENGLISH LONGBOW ONLY.
NO MARKS ON THE BOW OR SIGHTING AIDS are permitted to be used by competitors and ONLY WOODEN arrow are to be shot.
The competition will be held in two parts ;
The morning warm up round, participants will shoot ends of three arrows at the Wand target at varying distances of 20, 30, 40 & 50 yards in turn until we break for lunch. Scores will be kept and prizes will be presented accordingly.

The 'Pound in' Novelty shoot - format to be announced
The World Wand Championship shoot - Knock out round format, competitors may shoot up to three arrows at the Wand target, one hit is required to carry the archer through to the next round. Miss with all three arrows and you are out. Shooting will continue this way until there are only two archers remaining, if the archers are evenly matched, at an agreed point the contest will go to sudden death where the first to miss goes out.
