How long does it take to tune a 12-string guitar? Nobody knows, but if you get it just right, oh how great they sound! Join us for a two-hour romp with this most cantankerous instrument, from early pioneers Lydia Mendoza, Huddie Leadbetter and Blind Willie McTell, through the Great Folk Scare of the 1960s with Pete Seeger and The Byrds, instrumental masters like John Fahey and Leo Kottke, 1970’s singer-songwriters, stopovers in the UK, and on up through the present day. The 12-strings may not always be in tune, but YOU will be when you support community radio with your WTJU pledge!
