This year, as part of our Chapter 10 celebrations, we are commemorating both the 10th anniversary of the reopening of British Council Libraries in Pakistan and the UK's National Year of Reading. To mark these milestones, we are delighted to bring a series of book clubs, author talks, and literary activities to our community of readers. As the third instalment of our "10th Anniversary Shelf " series of curated conversations around selected books as part of these celebrations, we are pleased to host a book club featuring The Museum Detective by Maha Khan Phillips. We will be joined by the author for a Q and A session.
The Museum Detective by Maha Khan Phillips. On this exploratory journey, we will delve into Phillips' narrative as she traces her protagonist, Dr. Gul Delani, through the grief of her niece’s disappearance, a high-stakes investigation into a black-market antiquities ring, and the startling truth she uncovers amid a dangerous conspiracy. Written with sharp insight and remarkable tension, this novel examines questions of personal justice, corruption, and resilience, offering a thoughtful reflection on navigating loss and unearthing the past.
