About this Event

Training will be held in Suite 351 East

Patrick Dowling is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling/Marriage and Family Therapy, and has maintained a private practice in Exton, PA for the past 7 years. Previous to this, Patrick worked at Caron 7 years. Previous to this, Patrick worked at Caron Main Line Health as the Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health and at Rehab After Work as their Clinical Director.

For the last twenty-five years, Patrick has brought his passion for mental health and addictions recovery to his work with individuals and families, utilizing various models of therapy including family systems, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, trauma treatment, and relapse prevention. Patrick is known for his successful assistance with families in complex interventions.

The prevalence of Marijuana/THC use (currently 18-20% of those 12 and older) continues to increase and the perceptions of risk continue to decrease despite studies pointing to significant risk factors for mental and physical health. Roughly 3.5% of Pennsylvania residents are enrolled in the state's medical marijuana program. There is mixed data regarding THC use and physical and mental health concerns. In this training we will discuss the specific implications of THC usage amounts as it impacts wellness. We will explore the current trends of medical and non-medical THC usage, efficacy, and health implications.
